The Oregon Natural Resources Education Program (ONREP) connects educators with Oregon’s forests, wildlife and water through professional development workshops. The awardwinning international environmental education curricula, Project Learning Tree and Project Wild, are used to help teachers engage students in learning by providing thoughtprovoking, field-tested classroom activities that develop critical-thinking skills. Topics include forest ecology, forest history, fire ecology, forest habitat and watersheds. Some courses are offered for university credit and participants receive professional development units. Multi-day workshops and summer institutes provide more in-depth exploration of topics and extensive use of materials.
